A short rec today, after the long one on Monday.
Story: The Modern Knight
Author: reversingpolarity
Rating: All Ages
Word Count: 276
Author's Summary: Everyone has their fears, even the bravest of people.
Characters/Pairings: Barbara Wright, Ian Chesterton
Warnings: None
Recced because: In contrast to my last rec this is a short piece of fluff showing Ian and Barbara's home life, with an amusing ending.
Excerpt:
The shrill cry rang out through their home from the kitchen. In the study, an entire story higher than the kitchen, Ian was pretending to finish the last of his marking (but had instead begun reading a book he found on sale the other day), when he heard Barbara's scream.
Thinking only the very worst things, he jumped up from his chair and dashed down stairs toward the supposed peril. His mind envisioned swarms of Daleks, giant cats, Vords, vengeful Zarbi, brains in jars and the most disagreeable of all: the return of the TARDIS. Much to his amusement, however, that wasn't what he found.
If you like this story don't forget to tell the author!
