Story: The Boy in the Barn
Author: Nostalgia
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 1,647
Author's Summary: Backstory. (Spoilers for Hell-Bent and Planet of the Spiders)
Characters/Pairings: One
Recced because: It's New Year's Day, at least in my time zone, so let's take things back to the beginning, shall we? In fact, let's take things all the way back to the point where the Doctor is still a little boy, and his problematic parentage renders him less than suitable to be raised in Gallifreyan high society. But this isn't to say that there aren't people who care for him, who do their best to set him on the right path – and who teach him he can be loved, and respected, and most of all, worthy. It's a bittersweet but ultimately hopeful story, and one of my favorites of the past year. I hope it becomes one of yours, too.
