Recced because: For one thing, there is not nearly enough fanfiction that features the characters from The Sarah Jane Adventures, and there is not nearly enough fanfiction that features the characters from Big Finish's UNIT audios, and there is not nearly enough fanfiction that features characters from both, and draws on Doctor Who's long history with such precision and excellent characterisation and makes it all so fun. Clyde Langer's future spells itself out here, with the tongue-in-cheek humour and occasional moments of real profundity that suit him so well.



"He's in the really top-secret stuff, Maria, even I don't know what he does, honest," Clyde replied. "I mean, we sometimes have lunch in the cafeteria, but we always end up talking about sport, or what's on the telly, or you and all the others. I'm pretty sure he's just doing stuff with computers, anyway."

"Says the man with a lovely new scar on his forehead, and yes, of course I noticed," Maria said. "Oh well. I'll ask again next time. You're on investigations — try to investigate it!"

Luke laughed, and Clyde and Maria both looked at him. "It was a good joke!" he said, defensively. "A play on words!"

"Idiot," Clyde said, affectionately. "Go on, buy us another round."
